An example of cultural diplomacy in practice

Luka Brase was one of the five Slovak artists who participated in a residency program in Varanasi organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

He created a collection of artworks reflecting the spiritual heritage, architectural beauty, and everyday life of Varanasi (Modi’s parliamentary constituency).

Prime Minister Modi and Slovak President Peter Pellegrini toured the exhibition together. Modi praised the pieces, emphasizing that art and culture have a unique ability to bridge nations. Luka Brase publicly shared his gratitude for the opportunity to create paintings for the Indian Prime Minister.
